The Chosen Card

Before you begin this trick, separate the black cards from the red cards. Put the black card packet (face down) on top of the red card packet. With the cards face down, fan only the top half and have someone select a card. You already know that they have selected a black card. Ask your volunteer to remember the card that he picked. Now fan the bottom half of the cards and have them return their card. Make sure it goes into the bottom half of the deck. Give the cards a cut, then face the cards toward you and look through the cards. You will see one black card in a bunch of reds. Remember that card. Shuffle the cards thoroughly to destroy any evidence of your set-up. You can now impress your volunteer by reading their mind or by revealing their card in any manner you see fit.

Remember! A magician never tells his secrets. Everyone has more fun when no one knows how the trick is done.
